Don't let my 3-star stop you from trying Scooters. I am a critic and this is a good place. Could qualify as a Diner and Dive type place IMO. Has nightly specials that vary plus specials per night. Wed is smokin night with BBQ, Ribs and smoked wings. Fall off the bone baby back ribs and great wings smothered in sauce. If you like a lot of sauce get the special smoked wings on Wed. Fridays have large list of specials but order by 730 or 8 or they will run out. Food is surprisingly good for this diner and dive like location. While it is a burger and wing type place it serves prime rib, a chefs pasta and a chicken special on Fridays. The tomatoes in the chicken caprice salad were outstanding and the portion of mozzarella large. Enjoyed PEI mussels my last visit that were average but in a very good wine and garlic broth with a good slice of Italian bread. Steamers are very good and are also a special item not always on the menu along with Conch Fritters Bahamian and Key West Style. If the crab cake is on the special menu highly recommended. Its not Maryland but a good close second. Saturday and Sunday a late rise breakfast special menu. Soups - The Italian Wedding soup is great if you like a lot of pepper. Lobster Chowder and Clam Chowder good. Burgers are large and good. Soups, salads subs, sandwiches, Fajitas, all regulars along with rib eye steak and a Kids Menu also. Full bar very reasonably priced and good size. Local bar with juke box, multiple TVs at the bar, Booths. Opposite the dining area and bar are pool tables (lots of people bringing their own sticks that enjoy the sport) and a band on Friday nights in separate side that is open to the dining area so get there early if you want to avoid the band noise. Dark crowded and loud until about 9PM. Friendly place where locals come and visit thus loud. Bar tenders get to know each customer and call them by name. Outside tables for the smokers however every time the front door opens some of the smoke gets in thus the one comment about odors someone made. Cindy will serve you at the bar or ask for Carly or Dinese. As there are few full bars in Hobe Sound you will have to search this out near the back of a retail strip mall. Between US 1 and Alt AIA on the north side of Bridge Road in the Winn Dixie shopping center - 8913 SE Bridge Rd Hobe Sound Fl for your Garmond.

First time customer, was recommended by a local and we were pleased. It's one of those surprises in a shopping center restaurants. Good food and reasonable prices.

My father raved about this place so we had to take him there for a pre-father's day dinner. This place is a pure dive/biker bar, locals hangout and dinner show all in one. Not really a dinner show but we did enjoy a drunk local climbing on the bar to put "boobs" in a bag hanging from the bar. It's hard to explain. THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING !!!! Prime Rib, Ribeye, Seafood, Fresh Salads, Baked potatoes! I am sure I'll be back when I'm back to Hobe Sound!

Excellent local joint, think of it like a local version of an ale house with better food. Prices are extremely affordable and the atmosphere is lax and upbeat. Great place if you've never tried it.

It took me a couple of visits to get this place, but I finally realized it's a really good locals place that is friendly enough for outsiders to visit. The staff is PRO to the max, they are almost all female, all very energetic and helpful, just great service all the way around. I am sure not everyone feels this way, but this place is BUSY all the time, they kick ass around the clock. I haven't tried much of the food, but the wings were good, which is good enough for me, and the beer is cold and served quickly. Scooter's is the kind of place where little kids shoot pool while their parents eat, and real hustlers vie for tables with them during normal dinner hours. Live music too on the weekends.

DIVE DIVE DIVE !! If you can find it hiding back behind the palms... really good chicken wings, nice crispy greasy French fries - excellent chowder... that's why I came - that's what made me happy. They could run a squirt of fantastic and paper towel over the place... but alls well.

Scooters has been a part of the community for longer than I can remember (35 years), although for most of that time, I was not a not a patron. I have been there twice in the past year, and I can honestly say, I haven't missed much. Went again last evening with another couple (natives), and it lived down to my expectations. Scooters is the quintessential dive bar, with the emphasis on the word "dive" Every surface is sticky with dirt and grease, and if you look closely at the tiled floor, it's not black grout between the tiles, it's grey that has turned black with grime. I would really love to turn this place over to Robert Irvine of "Restaurant: Impossible" just to see his reaction to the dirt and grime that appears to liberally coat everything in he place. We ordered the ""Bang Bang Shrimp"; a basket of fries; a dozen medium hot "Buffalo Wings" a dozen of their BBQ Grilled Wings" and a pitcher of Bud lite. Now what we were served as "Bang Bang Shrimp" resembled nothing I have ever tasted as "Bang Bang Shrimp" before in my life. What we received was a small basket of smallish (41-50 count) shrimp, and "banana pepper" rings that had been over breaded and deep fried at too cool of a temperature, as the items were overly greasy, and fried until joined; then drowned in an obviously purchased in a jar, sweet chili sauce. There was nothing remotely resembling the delectable goodness in true Asian "Bang Bang Shrimp". As for the medium Buffalo Wings, again cooked at too cool a temperature, as they were overly greasy, and not at all crunchy. The medium "buffalo sauce" was to my taste, another product right out of the can or bottle. The BBQ wings showed some potential, but after the wings had been grilled (and in a few cases, partially cremated), they were doused in an overly sweet (obviously canned) BBQ sauce (which was permeated by the taste of "liquid smoke". With the fries, there were no pretexts, frozen, crinkle cut fries under cooked, and cooked too cool. The fries were limp, mushy, slightly golden colored chunks of potato. With a big cast iron Dutch oven full of 450 degree (f) peanut oil, and a little Zateran's Cajun spice mixture, I can turn the exact same pre cut /frozen fries into delectable bites of goodness. But with no care or concern, we were served "blech" fries. So, dirty, and poor quality food, but with really inexpensive draft bears, scooters warrants two stars. So come for the beer, and leave because of the food ~ that would be the perfect Scooters experience.

Simply awesome. Weekend dinner specials usually include snapper, lobster, shrimp and or steak for less than $17. Where can you find that these days. Not to mention it is really awesome home cooking. Oh and did I Mention the drinks are endless and cheap too! Been going to this place for over 20 years. Love it. Keep on truckin scooters!

Gotta love Scooters; best dive bar in Martin County! Cold beer, good bar food (get the bang bang shrimp, and a burger! Skip the pulled pork). Waitresses don't take sh*t, but are awesome. Live music happens often, shoot some pool, drop some cash in the digital jukebox

What a great find! It is a home town kind of a bar that is located in the corner of the Winn-Dixie plaza and you could miss it with the blink of an eye. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is great and the place is always busy. The breaded mushrooms and onion rings are delicious if you are looking for some fried food. The fajitas and smoked prime rib are some of our favorites.
